Over the past few years, AI has suddenly become part of almost everything we do. Within the finance profession, it is rapidly becoming impossible to ignore, and that transformation can be both exciting and challenging.
What we are seeing more and more, however, is AI being used incorrectly. As if it were a replacement for human knowledge and experience. In finance, and in many other professions, that can create significant risks.
"AI is not a replacement for people. It is a tool that helps us work smarter and supports us in doing our jobs more effectively."
That is why we believe it is important to actively train our team in the use of different AI tools. Not just "how does ChatGPT work?", but more importantly:
• When should you use AI, and when shouldn't you?
• How do you validate and review AI-generated output?
• How can AI support your daily work processes?
• And how do you continue to think critically as a professional?
Last week, we kicked off the first of four training sessions.
Topics include practical applications such as:
• Supporting presentations and content creation;
• Processing and summarizing information;
• Working more effectively in Excel;
• Structuring and analyzing data;
• And improving reporting processes.
AI is here to stay and its role in the workplace will only continue to grow. We would rather invest in responsible and effective use today than spend time correcting mistakes tomorrow.
Most importantly, human expertise, professional judgment, and critical thinking will always remain at the center of what we do.
